High & Wild’s aim is simple: to help you explore the world's wild places while at the same time helping to conserve the cultures and environments through which you travel. Many of our journeys take place in biological and cultural hotspots, areas of great natural beauty where plant, animal and human diversity are in a very fragile balance. In the last decade or so, increasing pressures have been placed on many of these regions, some of which have been beneficial to local people and the environment, but equally some of which have not. Adventure travel companies such as High & Wild who operate in these regions must shoulder some of the responsibilities that go hand in hand with this kind of travel, and we make sure wherever possible that we are a force for positive change.

All our journeys are underscored by a firm commitment to sustainable tourism and, unlike many other companies, the journeys here have a maximum group size of twelve people. We believe that this sort of low-impact tourism can help preserve the cultures and biodiversity of the remoter parts of the world. It can also play an essential role in helping to increase awareness, both in the outside world and locally, of the need to preserve these areas for future generations. This allows us to be friendlier towards the environment, less disruptive to local communities and able to move more easily from the beaten path. Although this does mean that places can fill up quite quickly, we are sure that the resulting greater intimacy of the group creates a far more enriching experience for you.
