HD Video - our world in motion
The deadline for entries in this category only has been extended until 10th October 2016

This HD video category - Travel Shorts - was originally introduced to reflect the developments in HD video in stills cameras. However, technology is moving really quickly, and today it's possible to travel and take still shots and shoot video on devices that were simply not available until recently.
Consequently we have decided to amend the rules for our HD video category, which previously only allowed video shot on stills cameras with the ability to shoot video. Now we will welcome short travel films shot on everything from your mobile phone or a video camera to a Go-Pro or similar piece of kit.
DEADLINE EXTENSION: We appreciate this new development doesn't give you much time to submit your two-minute film before our deadline of October 1st, so for the HD video category 'Travel Shorts' only, we are extending the deadline to October 10th.
The winning films will feature in selected exhibitions in 2017.
HD videos can consist of moving footage alone, images shot as time-lapse sequences or a combination of stills and video imagery.
What subjects can you include?
Your HD video must give an insight into a country, a place or an event, lasting no more than 2 minutes (120 seconds) in length. Shorter videos are acceptable but films longer than 2 minutes will be disqualified. You may add a musical soundtrack to your video if you wish provided that the music is credited, copyright released and free from royalties.
HD video is a new challenge to photographers, but as technologies converge and photography becomes a more and more important part of the social media environment, we want to see how photographers are rising to the challenge. Submissions should be short, snappy and engaging.
