One Shot Category

TPOTY 2008

Man has stamped his mark on this planet through the remarkable architecture - new and old - which shapes the many great cities of the world and the urban spaces which surround and complement the buildings and structures.

You may shoot in B&W or colour.

What subjects can you include?

Any city where architecture and/or urban space is a key element of the image. You may capture the architecture of buildings or other man-made structures as well as with the space surrounding them in the same image but you do not have to show both in your image.

For the purposes of this category, a city is defined as a large urban centre.

How many images?

One (1) image - This is a single image category.

What are the judges looking for?

Cities are defined by their buildings and urban space. Old buildings define a past while new buildings shape a future, and the spaces around them create the interaction between architecture, inhabitants and environment. Capture a city's architecture, urban spaces or both in a single, strong image that gives the judges a perspective on your chosen city and makes them want to look at it again and again.

Am I eligible?

This category is open to all photographers.

How many times can I enter?

You may enter this category as many times as you wish.

The winner of this category will receive a five or six-day winter or summer voyage for two people along Norway’s stunning coastline with Hurtigruten, including flights from the UK, plus a Torres Insulator Jacket from Páramo Directional Clothing.
