Portfolios
Portfolios are compromised of four (4) related images.
- Young Photographers' Alliance award for the best emerging talent. This award will be given by the judges to the most interesting, creative and original entry from a photographer, aged 25 years and under, in either the New Talent or Young Travel Photographer of the Year categories.
Condé Nast Traveller Award
Entries for this category are portfolios of six (6) related images which tell a story.
New Talent Portfolio
For anyone aspiring to make a career in photography, New Talent is the category for you. Entries for this category are portfolios of six (6) related images which tell a story.
One Shot
One Shot is a single image category and is open to anyone
First Shot
First Shot is a single image category for less experienced or accomplished photographers. This category is only open to amateur photographers using basic SLR cameras, compact cameras or mobile phone.
HD Video - Travel Shorts
Short films shot in HD on a digital stills camera. Entries for this category are by DVD and post only.
Young Travel Photographer of the Year 2012
This special award is only open to younger entrants, aged 18 years and under at the closing date. Entries are divided into two age groups; 14 years old & under, 15 to 18 years old. All entries for this category are portfolios of four (4) images.

Travel Photographer of the Year 2012 - the Cutty Sark Award
The Travel Photographer of the Year 2012 will be the photographer who is judged to have submitted the best images in at least two of the portfolio categories - People Watching, Wild Planet and Journeys.
