Marrakech! A stunning location for photographers, bursting with colour and movement. This famous walled city, renowned for its architecture, souk and lively market place, Djemma el Fna, is set against the backdrop of the Atlas Mountains.
The winner of the "New Talent" category will go to Marrakech with Tribes for a 5-day stay in this charming city and the chance to create their own diary of this destination.
You will stay in a riad, a traditional townhouse in the medina (walled city). Riad are small, quirky, unique places to stay, and their position in the medina means you are never far from the hustle and bustle of life in Marrakech's old town.
To help you to get your bearings, you will start with a half day guided tour of the old town, and we will also provide you with a guide to show you around on two other half days so that you can get some great photos without getting too lost!
Amongst the many attractions are the Majorelle Gardens (famous for the vivid blue walls and tropical plants), the palaces, tombs and schools of the city.
The Riad experience
Don't forget the souk, the air scented with spices and with shafts of light illuminate every imaginable product from the most mundane to the most exotic and vibrant, such as the brightly coloured dyed wools hanging from the roof.
The Djemma el Fna (main square) is at the heart of the old walled town and definitely not to be missed. It bustles with life both day and night but particularly comes to life as the afternoon light begins to fade, and food stallholders, acrobats, snake charmers, musicians and crowds of eager onlookers pour into the square.
Your prize includes 4 nights B&B in a lovely riad, and also includes return flights from London, airport transfers in Marrakech, a half day city tour, and the services of a guide for two additional half days.
