JEREMY HOARE

Photographer & TV Cameraman

Being born into a showbiz family with his father being manager of the Theatre Royal Drury Lane, and after a career as an ITV television cameraman, Jeremy Hoare shoots mainly stills today. The merging of digital images and HD video means he can combine them to make short films and one, ‘Lost Love’, was screened at international film festivals in six countries.

During his television career, Jeremy worked with many actors and stars of national and international repute. In the last decade he has been the main cameraman on four camera video shoots of classical ballets Sleeping Beauty, La Bayadere, Peter Pan, Coppelia, Alice in Wonderland and Don Quixote in Kyoto, Japan.

With Japan having been the main focus for his photography for many years, he has a large collection of images and a dedicated online gallery kyotophotogallery.com as well as his personal one at jeremyhoare.com

"What I look for in any image is a sense of involvement, I want to see and feel the story in a single frame. Studying the paintings of old master artists such as Rembrandt, Caravaggio, Turner and Cezanne can inspire creativity by learning about composition and lighting which has changed little in 500 years."
