TPOTY is one of the most affordable photography competitions to enter. So what are the entry fees and deals to enter TPOTY 2026 and why should you enter?

Entering TPOTY can change your life. TPOTY’s media coverage is huge. And unlike many competitions which promise you exposure, we deliver it internationally (see the latest media coverage).

Rather than thinking of TPOTY as just anothert competition, think of it as a way of marketing your photography to a huge audience for a small amount of money.

Which Entries are FREE?

• The overall winner – Travel Photographer of the Year. There is no charge to be entered for the top prize! If you enter two or more portfolios (each 4 images) you will automatically be entered for this prize with no extra fee. You simply pay to enter your portfolios and we do the rest.
• The Travel Image of the Year award. If you are a winner of any of the One Shot categories or the Best Single Image in a Portfolio, you will automatically be entered for this prize with no extra fee. You simply pay for your initial entry and we do the rest.
• Young Travel Photographer of the Year is completely FREE to enter.
• The entry fees for all the other categories as listed below, along with the discounts for multiple entries.

The TPOTY Pass…

ENTERING LOTS OF IMAGES? Use the early bird TPOTY Pass for unlimited entries until 14th July 2026

Would you like to enter lots of categories but are concerned about the cost? We have a solution for you and this is what our current winner did last year. Enter by 14th July 2026 and you can get an unlimited entry TPOTY pass. This allows you to enter any category which you’re eligible for, and enter as many times as you like, for a one-off fee of £99. But this early bird offer is only up to 14th July.

• 2 x One Shot single images – £20 when entered at the same time
• 2 x Four-image portfolios – £36 when entered at the same time
• ‘Four Plus Two’ 12-image combination of 4 One Shot entries and 2 four-image portfolios entered at the same time – £59 (full price would be £84 if entered individually). 
• ‘Ten Image Combination’ up to 10 ‘One Shot’ images – £59 (full price would be up to £120 if entered individually).

Eligibility for the top award of Travel Photographer of the Year 2026 is FREE and automatic for any entrant (aged 19 and above) who submits at least 2 portfolios (8 images or more) in any combination of portfolio categories.

Payment of entry fees: Entry fees must be paid in pounds sterling (£) only. Image submissions will be paid for during the online entry process. Entry fees will only be refunded where an entrant has made a purchase in error. This request must be made within two weeks of making the entry purchase or the fees cannot be refunded.

Why is there an entry fee?

TPOTY is an independent and largely self-funded award. The income from entries fees are vital in helping to fund the running of the competition, the prizes, the website and server, our exhibitions and our activities to promote, publicise and showcase the winners and entrants. 

Travel Photographer of the Year is your showcase for the best in contemporary travel photography and these images have inspired, and continue to inspire, people to discover and photograph the many and diverse cultures and places, the landscapes and the wildlife of this amazing planet.
