IN FOCUS: DUSK TO DAWN

Welcome to the latest in a series of posts focusing on individual categories in this year’s Travel Photographer of the Year awards.

Welcome to the latest in a series of posts focusing on individual categories in this year’s Travel Photographer of the Year awards.

Show us how you use low light! Low light and night photography presents the photographer with a different set of challenges but also with wonderful opportunities to capture the world differently. In this single-image category you can use either natural or artificial light, including flash, as your light source but where artificial light is used it must be your primary light source.

You can include any subject but your image must have been shot between the dusk and dawn in ambient low light or night time artificial light.

The winner of this category will receive a jacket and trousers from Páramo, a personalised Plastic Sandwich leather portfolio book and membership of The Royal Photographic Society. This category is open to all photographers, and the entry fee is £10.
